All the information here focuses on “affiliate marketing”, which is basically a way of making money from sending people from one site to another. I try to do so without upsetting people. I’m not a fan of the old “interruption marketing” that we see on TV, where companies try to market a product that you have no interest in. Fortunately, interruption marketing is on it’s way out. The internet has made it possible for people to see advertisements that are far more targeted to their wants and needs. Most people don’t realise how easy it is to become an affiliate marketer. Personally, I focus on what’s called “free traffic”… which means that I make money online without spending a cent.

I promote all different types of products. One product that I promote is a “trading site” which is targeted at beginner traders; people who are interested in learning how to buy and sell currencies or stocks… but have never learnt how to do it. They give you VIRTUAL currency to play with… so you can learn and practice trading without risking a cent. It’s a FREE demo account. They have an app which is pretty cool. Aside from being able to trade currencies, people are also able to buy buy stocks; including some of the biggest online names like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Yahoo, Amazon, Apple and Zynga (who do a lot of FB games). Something that is less familiar to people is the “currency markets” or “forex market” (or Foreign Exchange market). Most people don’t know this, but the currency markets is like the world’s hugest casino. Over US$5 TRILLION dollars is traded… every single day. People who visit this site and signup get a FREE demo account… which let’s them  practice trading with US$10,000 of “virtual currency”. Risk free. Some people do make a living from trading including some of my Facebook friends. It’s not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’s basically a huge casino where the odds aren’t necessarily against you. It’s quite interesting.

Some people who checkout the site will like what they see and decide to trade with real money. There is a small cost to buying real stocks or trading real currency and the company that I promote has some of the lowest fees that I have come across. Trading is interesting and a lot easier than most people think… but it is also easy to get carried away. If you feel that you lack any self control then it’s best to avoid it all together. Be warned. Trading can be risky business. I advise you AGAINST using real money straight away. If you decide to use real money then that is completely up to you. The minimum deposit for playing for real is US$50.

Now see what I just did? I find working for myself to be liberating. I choose which products that I want to promote and how I promote them. If a company doesn’t treat their affiliates right then I can easily direct my traffic elsewhere. In other words, it’s in the best interest of companies to keep their “affiliate marketers” happy.

~ THE STRATEGY ~

Firstly, let me point out that I do NOT own a product. I focus entirely on something called affiliate marketing. If you don’t know anything about affiliate marketing then quickly look at HERE. You will understand how it’s possible for you to make money WITHOUT dealing with customers. The focus is on TRAFFIC… which is sending people from one site on the internet to another. Affiliate marketing makes it possible for anybody to make money from directing people to websites. If you send enough people then you make money. You can promote whatever you want and you are your own boss. If a company doesn’t value the traffic you send then YOU can send it to another company. The techniques that I am teaching here focus on are FREE traffic generation strategies. They are FREE ways of getting people to check out sites through YOUR affiliate link… so if a purchase is made then YOU make a commission.

So your first step is to CHOOSE A PRODUCT TO PROMOTE
Chose a product to promote and signup as an affiliate. Click HERE to see a list of products that I know are good at converting. In other words, these sites will make you can begin promoting immediately. In general it is safest to stick with huge markets such as golf, weight-loss, forex etc.

Huge niche market + Lifetime commissions + Great conversions + Powerful marketing + Set & Forget technique = Passive Residual Income!      

Some marketers suggest that you shy away from big markets due to the level of competition BUT if you use the information I’ve given to you below you will have no trouble entering into the big markets. Video marketing is powerful. Google loves to show videos at the top of google search results.

Get your affiliate link

When you signup to an affiliate network/program such as Clickbank, eToro , BruteForceSEO (awesome), etc.
You will be given a unique affiliate URL. You will need to save this link. This is your key which tells the affiliate network/program that YOU are the person who referred a person to their site and therefore YOU are the one to be compensated for the revenue they generate from that referred customer/person. Now that you have your affiliate link you now need a technique to promote it. You have probably noticed that some people try to send their affiliate link to every man and his dog. This is spamming and it’s ineffective, annoying and illegal. It’s the sign of a desperate novice. What works better is “targeted marketing” where the people who get your link actually want it. That’s where video marketing comes in…

CREATE A VIDEO

You either need to create a video or use a video that’s already been created. Ideally you create one of your own. You can do that using any video creation software. Actually, Windows Movie Maker comes with most versions of windows. Mac’s also have their own video editing software. Another way that you can create videos is to use Jing. It’s simple and free and definitely worth a look. It’s also great if you want to share something with your friends on facebook such as a picture of your computer screen, which you might wanna do once you start seeing some $$ roll in. If you’re super lazy you could copy an existing video from youtube. Do do that the site you need is Keepvid. This site will enable you to download any youtube video and it’s super easy to use and totally free. If you decide to promote etoro then you could even grab one of my videos. My best converting videos (those that perform well at bringing sales) are effective because they focus on selling the CLICK and NOT on selling the product. This is an important distinction to make and something to think about. In my opinion, this is a big mistake that most video marketers make. My videos are not intended to sell… they are intended to direct targeted traffic (people) off youtube and towards the products site (often referred to as a landing page) THROUGH my affiliate link. As an example, one video that has already made me over US$5000 – which is not bad for a single video is HERE. Try to notice some of the things that I am doing in that video. Notice how I focus on selling the click not the product? Feel free to grab a copy of that video if you wish to. I do recommend that you make some changes to that video. Actually, youtube now has a built in “video editor” function which you could use in order to make the video a little unique. It’s not always necessary but youtube does have a “duplicate content filter” that you should try and avoid… so feel free to play around with youtube’s video editor to make multiple unique copies of the video.  The cool thing about video marketing is that there’s nothing stopping people from having hundreds of videos. You could upload a video or two every day and there really is no limit. The scalability factor is endless!

UPLOAD THE VIDEO AND USE VIDEO SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Upload the video to youtube and use the following video search engine optimization (vSEO) techniques…

First of all find your target keyword (eg. “forex trading” and find keyword used by the videos that are ALREADY ranking high. When you put these keywords into your “tags” section use quotation marks eg. “forex trading”, “forex trading for beginners”, “forex trading tips” etc.  6-8 keywords ideally. You can also type your target keyword into google and see what other keywords google suggests. This will ensure that the keywords have traffic and are relevant. Also include your target keyword once in the header and twice in the video desciption section. But here’s the important part… put your affiliate link AT THE START of the description section (so that it can be seen easily). Include a strong call to actions, such as “Learn more at http://your_affiliate_link”. Make sure that you include the http:// in the description area (for your link) so that it becomes hypertext and is clickable.

ADD AN ANNOTATION

It is possible to put a message on top of your video AFTER it has been uploaded. This is called an annotation. Annotations stand out and are useful in getting people’s attention… especially if you include a strong call to action such as, “TO CHECKOUT ETORO JUST CLICK THE LINK BELOW THIS VIDEO!”

PROMOTE YOUR VIDEO

This site is awesome… and you won’t find many marketers willing to sharing this info with you. Seriously, anybody who has a video on youtube (even just one) should go there and use it. It’s free so there’s no excuse. Basically, it’s an advanced traffic exchange site which will give you youtube videos LIKES, FAVORITES, SUBSCRIBERS and VIEWS.

It’s pretty simple to figure it out. If you’re uploading fresh videos then give your video a boost within the first 48 hours and it’ll get a jump over other videos.

Rinse and repeat!

TRACKING 

If you’re uploading a lot of videos then make sure you are TRACKING… so that you can see where your results are coming from. You can add tracking information when you create an affiliate link with Clickbank or eToro. Actually, most decent affiliate networks/programs allow tracking. Tracking is often overlooked by many people just starting out. There is a thing called the 80/20 rule. Approximately 80% of your results will come from about 20% of your marketing efforts. If you are tracking then you will know which videos are performing well and which videos aren’t… so you can see where adjustments need to be made. Sometimes small changes can dramatically effect your results and it’s usually because of the 80/20 rule (Also called the Pareto principle). Far too many people underestimate the importance of tracking!

BACKLINKS
You don’t need to do this but it WILL help you get more traffic to your videos from search engines such as Bing or Google. This is an advanced strategy for once you have money rolling in and you want to speed things up. What you do is create backlinks to your videos. Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or web page. The more incoming links the more the search engines see your video as being of high quality. You can outsource the work of backlinking for 5 bucks over at Fiverr or you can use incredibly powerful software such as Brute Force SEO (NOTE: This isn’t free but it’s super powerful. CONCLUSION
In conclusion, uploading videos is free and an awesome way to get targeted traffic to whatever offer you’re promoting. If you aren’t yet using video marketing then perhaps it’s time to reconsider… because it’s FREE, the videos run on AUTOPILOT and it’s able to be scaled up. Rinse & Repeat. Video marketing works now and it will continue working into the future!
